Rental Information
Capacity: The Cabin at Top of Goat Hill contains five bedrooms and a bunkhouse. It is furnished to accommodate a party up to 16 people including babies and children. The Cabin is designed for sleeping upstairs and socializing on the main floor. Each room has a double or queen bed. The main level has air conditioning, washer and dryer, full kitchen including dishwasher.

Rentals of less than 7 days are subject to New York State Sales Tax of 7% ($105 tax on a three day weekend, total $1305).
During the high-season of July and August rentals are limited to full weeks. Weekend rentals are available the rest of the year. The cabin is a three-season cabin. During the middle of winter we do not rent. If you are interested in a rental for a meeting or event please contact us for rates.
Payment Policies: A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. $750 for a one week rental or $350 for a three day rental. Once you arrive for your visit your reservation deposit is converted to a security deposit for damage and breakage. 50% of the rate must be payed no later than 4 weeks in advance, with the balance to be payed 2 weeks prior to your rental period.
Cancellations 6 weeks in advance will have the deposit refunded. Cancellations after this time are nonrefundable unless another party takes the period you rented.
The security/damage deposit will be refunded in full provided no damage has been done, instructions are followed for preparing the house for check-out, and the house is vacated by check-out time.
Rental periods: The cabin is rented from Saturday to Saturday. Check-in at 2:00 PM; check-out, at 10:00 AM.
Location: Top of Goat Hill is situated directly on Comfort Bay on Lake George's picturesque East Shore. Four miles off of Route 9L, at the end of the Pilot Knob Road and one mile past YMCA's Camp Chingachgook. The property has natural woods and undeveloped land with 230 feet of shoreline. The house is positioned about 300 feet from the edge of the lake and about 70 feet above its surface. Stairs provide access to the dock and waterfront area.
Pets: Your pet is allowed to accompany you on your vacation provided permission is obtained ahead of time. A pet fee of $50 for a weekend or $100 for a week will be charged. Please be aware that we are in a very secluded setting and animals are our neighbors. We are not responsible for your pet, if they should have encounters with our animal neighbors.
No Smoking: We do NOT allow smoking within the house but the deck provides a great place for those who feel the need to smoke. We ask that smokers not discard butts over the edge of the deck as it causes a fire hazard.
Emergencies: A family member manages the cabin and lives within 40 miles. Should an emergency arise he will be there to take care of any problems.
Please be considerate: We trust you to appreciate that this is a family vacation home, and to treat the cabin as if it were your own. If you have intentions of using the house, the grounds, or the lake in any disrespectful manner, or to cause unnecessary disturbance to our neighbors, find another place to rent.
